dSPACE Grows and Plans Expansion of Production in the Almepark Industrial Estate

Paderborn, February 26, 2024. dSPACE continues its expansion course and has increased its sales in 2023 by 20 percent to over 400 million euros. The number of employees has grown to over 2,600 worldwide, more than 1,500 of whom work at the company headquarters in Paderborn. The company wants to continue its success story and has acquired a 65,000 square meter site on Ahornallee for this purpose. Planning for the site expansion is in full swing.

The main growth drivers for the dSPACE business are solutions that automotive manufacturers and their suppliers use to validate new developments for electromobility, driver assistance systems, and autonomous cars. Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems, the simulators required for this, are currently produced at the dSPACE site in Rathenaustrasse. As demand continues to rise, it has become necessary to expand production at a new location. The concentration of production in the Almepark industrial estate will reduce truck delivery traffic in the developing residential area around the headquarters on Rathenaustrasse. The new location in Almepark has direct transport links via the A33, the B1, and the Heinz-Nixdorf-Ring.
In the next few days, green cuttings will be carried out on the property on Ahornallee to create access for the necessary explosive ordnance detection.

"We are strengthening the Paderborn site with this project of building a new production facility on Ahornallee," explained Dr. Carsten Hoff, who has been CEO of the dSPACE group since April 2023. "Paderborn is and remains the strong home base for our international business." In the course of last year, dSPACE founded new regional dSPACE companies in India and Sweden and is now represented by local offices in nine countries worldwide.

Parallel to the growth in sales, dSPACE's personnel requirements are increasing. "We are still looking for well-qualified experts, particularly in the fields of electronics/electrical engineering and IT, who want to work in our sophisticated environment," says Dr. Carsten Hoff.

With the new building in Almepark, production space that becomes available in the buildings on Rathenaustrasse can be converted into office space. This will make it possible to bring some of the employees who are currently housed in various rented spaces back to the Rathenaustrasse campus.
